Tehran proposes opening the Strait of Hormuz and reducing uranium enrichment, while the US is negotiating the unblocking of Iranian assets.

The United States and Iran appear to be moving closer to a new agreement, with both sides signaling compromise on the nuclear program and easing tensions in the Middle East.

According to Al Arabiya television, Iran has proposed a 10-year suspension of uranium enrichment above 3.6%, as well as the domestic dilution of uranium reserves enriched above 20%.

The report also says that Tehran has offered to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and temporarily suspend sea crossing fees in exchange for compensation from Washington and discussions on lifting sanctions and unblocking Iranian funds frozen abroad.

According to the same sources, Iran has proposed two paths for negotiations, initially demanding the declaration of an end to the war.

At the same time, CBS reported that US President Donald Trump and US negotiators are discussing a plan to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz and unblock Iranian assets.

Sources said Trump is consulting with his advisers and foreign leaders on the details of the potential deal.

The US president himself stated in an interview with CBS that the US is "significantly closer" to finalizing an agreement with Iran.

" Every day it's getting better ," Trump said, adding that he had read the draft agreement, but declined to provide details.

" I can't tell you before I tell them ," the American president declared.

Trump stressed that the agreement must guarantee that Iran does not have nuclear weapons.

" Otherwise we wouldn't even be talking. I'll just sign a deal where we get everything we want ," he said.

In another statement to Channel 12, Trump said he would not accept a deal that was not "favorable to Israel."

" Some prefer a deal, others the return of war. I believe Benjamin Netanyahu is torn between these two options ," the US president said.

Donald Trump also said he will meet with US negotiators today to review Iran's latest proposal and decide by Sunday whether to attack it. He will meet with special envoy Steve Witkoff and adviser Jared Kushner, along with JD Vance.
