Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy has appeared in public for the first time since his release from prison.
Sarkozy was seen jogging on the banks of the Seine and enjoying his freedom after spending several days in prison after being sentenced to 5 years in prison.
He was dressed in a dark tracksuit and accompanied by his bodyguard as they exercised a few hours after his release. Sarkozy was sentenced to five years in prison for accepting funds from former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi. He was released within days after security problems at the prison and an appeal by his lawyers.
The appeal hearing is scheduled for March next year. Until then, he will not be able to travel outside France. French media report that the former president is also considering a new political move.
