The Israeli military says one of its tanks accidentally hit an Egyptian position near the border with the Gaza Strip.
"The incident is being investigated and the details are under review. The IDF (Israeli army) expresses regret for the incident," it said in a statement, without giving further details, reports AlJazeera.
Hamas fighters say they have repulsed an Israeli ground attack near Khan Younis along the Gaza border. Israel admits that one of its tanks accidentally hit an Egyptian position outside the Gaza Strip.
