Donald Trump does not want to give a speech to the British Parliament during his official visit to the United Kingdom.
And while lawmakers will be on vacation, Trump said in an interview with the BBC that "they can have fun, relax and have a good time."
Trump was not given the opportunity to address parliament during his first state visit in 2019, unlike Barack Obama in 2011.
But Trump's allies in British politics, such as Nigel Farage of Reform UK and Conservative MP Suella Braverman, have insisted that parliament should be called to hear the president this time.
The US president said his goal during the September 17-19 trip was "to have a good time and to respect King Charles, because he is a fine gentleman."
