The President of Serbia, Aleksandër Vucic, stated during an interview in the local media that the situation in the north of Kosovo has become tense and an immediate solution is needed for the residents of these areas.
Invited to Happy television, after the meeting with the northern Serbs, the Serbian leader said that his country is ready for compromise to overcome this situation, but it is necessary for the 4 mayors to resign.
"We are ready for compromise, I'm just asking you to remove the fake mayors from the municipal buildings, let them resign. We are ready for compromises, but also to start the formation of the Association", said Vučič.
Furthermore, the president of Serbia gave details about the last meetings he had with the high representative of the EU, Lajcak, and that of the US, Escobar.
"I had a not so easy conversation with Miroslav Lajcak, with several American representatives and with one of the highest representatives of the EU. The situation is getting complicated and it worries me a lot. I don't think I need to say which countries they are. I have great respect for Chancellor Scholz, I am politically close to President Macron. It was a very difficult conversation. We have to understand them, they don't want war, conflict. It is up to us to protect the peace, the interests of our people, for our nation to survive. That's why it's not easy to talk even with Serbs from Kosovo," said Vučič.
