The Presidents of the European Commission and the European Council, Ursula von der Leyen and Antonio Costa, spoiled the mood of Aleksandar Vučić during his visit to Brussels.
They told him that they "remain fully committed to seeing a democratic Serbia in the EU."
Von der Leyen and Costa announced in X that they had discussed the importance of accelerating reforms, particularly in the areas of rule of law and media freedom, with the Serbian President.
During this visit, there was another incident. Vučić told Von der Leyen that he "just received a message from Moscow," as they posed for a photo.
"Okay, let them wait," EC President Vučić replied in irritation.
This exchange was recorded by cameras and quickly attracted the attention of European journalists, due to tensions between Brussels and Moscow.

Another detail of this visit was the response that the Serbian president had to the Prime Minister of Montenegro, who mocked his idea of a joint admission of the Western Balkans to the EU.
"I will rejoice in every success of the people in Skopje, Banja Luka, Elbasan... What's the problem with this?" Vučić said, explaining that EU leaders had only devoted 2 minutes to his idea.
