The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, during his speech today at the UN General Assembly in New York, did not leave without provoking the issue of Kosovo.
He accused the UN member countries that condemned the annexation of Ukrainian territories by Russia today, that 15 years ago, according to him, they did the complete opposite, allowing the unilateral declaration of Kosovo's independence. As he added that this action was a violation of the UN Charter and UN Resolution 1244.
" Almost all the great Western powers have brutally violated both the UN Charter and UN Resolution 1244, adopted in this High House, denying and violating all those principles which they defend today, and which have happened 24 years ago and exactly 15 years ago. 24 years ago, 19 of them, the most powerful and the biggest, had no mercy for little Serbia and laughed when Putin used the same excuse as them. Then, in 2008, it occurred to them to support the independence of the so-called Kosovo. That decision was taken when Serbia had a government dedicated to European integration and was a full member of all international organizations ," he said.
Then Vučič added that in Kosovo and Metohija, violence is being used against Serbs from what he called Albin Kurti's separatists. According to him, the cynicism of Kurti's regime goes so far that even though the EU and America have issued a statement condemning the violence of the authorities in Pristina, the number of attacks against Serbs increases.
" Just last week, Aljbin Kurti said in Brussels that the Serbs will pay and suffer. Is it possible to make a worse mockery of humanity and the international order. Just a day later, right now, a new Serbian contingent was taken, arrested in his campaign of terror. Miloš and Stefan Stojanović, Serbian boys, were shot on Christmas Eve by illegal members of the security forces. Although everyone knows that the very existence of the KBS is illegal according to Resolution 1244. The ban on voting for Serbs, the economic blockade, this is part of the sad daily life for Serbs," said Vucic .
Among other things, he spoke about the formation of the Association, as he added that even a decade after the signing of the Brussels Agreement, Prishtina has not enabled their formation.
" The imbalance that Serbia must submit to forever does not lead to a solution. The conversation with Kurt is more of a monologue than a dialogue. It is difficult to explain why, more than 10 years after the signing of the agreement, the ZSO was not established. Serbia is on the European path, ready to change and ready for reforms. We have good relations with the USA and I believe that our relations will be even better ", said the president.
