Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that the sole purpose of Serbia's military armament is "peacekeeping".
Speaking at the Palace of Serbia, Vucic presented a plan called, "A Leap to the Future", Serbia Expo 2027.
"With this geopolitical situation, the priority is to maintain peace," he said, adding that "if someone thinks that we will return something for someone, no, we will not. We will keep our country safe, we will defend the Constitution".
"Serbia must send a clear message that it is continuing its European path and increasing the pace through reforms, preserving its traditional friends, freedom and independence," said Vucic.
He announced "a big meeting in the military" on January 30 and a presentation of what will be done for the military and security agencies in February.
The Serbian president also said on Tuesday that the inaugural session of Serbia's new legislature could be expected after February 1 and that he expects the next Serbian cabinet to be inaugurated by March 15.
Asked about the Serbian opposition's demand that an international observation mission be sent to Serbia over alleged election irregularities, Vučić said that "the election victory on December 17 was "the cleanest since the restoration of a multi-party system in Serbia. and that there have never been fewer complaints about the electoral process.
Commenting on the Council of Europe's report on the Serbian elections, Vucic said that there were much more positive assessments of the government's actions on election day and during the election process.
