The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has replaced the Ukrainian Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Serhiy Shaptala.
According to foreign media, it will be Major General Anatoliy Barhylevych who will replace Mr. Shaptala. This comes just a day after Zelensky sacked army commander-in-chief Valery Zaluzhny.
The changes in the army have raised many questions, with the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, who demanded an explanation from the authorities about these moves.
Since February 24 two years ago, thousands of people, civilians and soldiers, have lost their lives in Ukraine, after the unjustified aggression by Russia.
