"Chain of fear" in Serbia; Vučić is reaching the end!

According to the Kreni-Promeni movement, hundreds of denunciations reveal an organized scheme of pressure on public sector employees to fill Vučić's party rallies...

In what is being described as a “chain of fear,” hundreds of citizens from across Serbia have reported systematic blackmail by structures of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), led by Aleksandar Vučić, to force public sector employees to participate in party rallies and activities.

The Kreni-Promeni civic movement, which has collected and verified these complaints, warns that the phenomenon is widespread and structured, especially in healthcare, education, and public enterprises.

The movement's spokesman, Nikola Stanković, told the newspaper 'Danas' that "hundreds of documented testimonies point to a serious crisis of democracy and workers' rights." According to him, citizens have been threatened with dismissal, non-renewal of contracts, salary cuts or forced transfers if they refuse to participate in SNS activities.

A case from the University Clinic of Vojvodina shows that the pressure began as soon as employees began to silently oppose political involvement. The administration distributed a “code of conduct” to control the political behavior of staff, banned any protest symbols and allowed only open expressions of support for Vučić. Meanwhile, the director of the institution herself participated in activities against civic protests.

The Kreni-Promeni Movement has announced that it will send a full report to international organizations such as the OSCE/ODIHR, demanding urgent investigation and protection for citizens facing political repression.

This development comes in an increasingly tense political climate in Serbia, where Vučić's government faces growing discontent and repeated citizen protests. What is happening in the public sector is just the tip of the iceberg: a system where fear, blackmail and economic dependence are transformed into tools to produce forced political participation and maintain the facade of popular support./ Pamphlet
