The terrible fires in Athens, the EC reacts: We will send two planes from Italy

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has reacted through a post on the X platform, to the fires in Greece.

"We stand by Greece as it fights with the devastating fires," said the president of the Commission, while noting that they will provide support with two planes from Italy and a helicopter from France.

"The EU is sending support from the rescEU fleet: two planes from Italy and a helicopter from France. Also, fire engines from the Czech Republic and Romania are being deployed. This is EU Solidarity in action", she said.
