Today, both of them, Rama and Berisha, have moved quickly, and no one should be surprised, because we are at the beginning of the end of the new Justice. Worse than in Romania, the process may even end before the May 11 elections. And when the SPAK prosecutors find out, it will be too late...
The big event with the arrest of the mayor of Tirana has nothing procedural. As has already been proven through months and months of investigations, but also precedents, the process against Veliaj could have continued naturally.
As is happening with Sali Berisha, who has dragged out all justice, whether with the 'Partizani' case, or with 'January 21' or 'Gërdec', files with massive thefts, killings and injuries.
The doctor, although under trial, continues to move and politically lead an institution that is the largest opposition party in the country. So with this precedent, Veliaj's arrest is being played out all day as a procedure.
But what is true is that all of this resembles political theater, which comes as a result of a Great Agreement, which today has only had a bargaining point or as the English say, a 'deal' between the two dinosaurs of Albanian politics.
What does Sali Berisha earn?
A trump card, a weapon, a crutch in front of his militants, so that what he fought for and sought was finally achieved. A few bones, or as they say, a little 'red meat' to throw at the militants to make them English.
In reality, Sali Berisha has strengthened Edi Rama, to show that he is the guarantor of the new Justice, who does not ask for either the left or the right.
In fact, he is attempting to eliminate a character with great political power, the only one who endangers his power and political legacy.
From today, Edi Rama has put a gag order on anyone in the Socialist Party who might seek or dream of a political ambition, not simply to inherit the position of mayor, but also to make a career.
Erion Veliaj is in his third term as mayor. Even if he wanted to, he is no longer legally running. The ambition that is being tried to stop Lali is that of a senior politician in the Socialist Party.
If Lali has the guts, the strength, and the character, he will fight this battle and in the end he may emerge victorious, bringing his entire true political yet human narrative of this saga against him. But that is another matter.
The current issue is that we are dealing with a terrifying, huge, and even fatal trap for SPAK and the new Justice, which Edi Rama and Sali Berisha have opened with their Great Agreement.
By trapping him in their movements, they seek to clean up the entire political field around him, hold elections and have the first and second parties control everything. It is no wonder that Rama is also bargaining with Berisha for the Tirana municipality, bringing his right-wing son-in-law there, who will sign all the caste permits.
And finally, they should give the SPAK and GJKKO oil, writing to the 'Xhafa' Commission that the temporary status has ended.
