Otherwise, our opposition, no matter how loud it is, will end up like the Turkish opposition that Rexhepi mocked on the bus: Bye Bye Kemal!
The platform presented to the deputies of the DP by Gazmend Bardhi, although it has not been fully disclosed, foresees in bold lines a merger of the grassroots structures, and then the merger of the central presidencies and the deputies.
A vision that presents exactly the opposite of what the democrats themselves, the opposition voters themselves, and first of all the Albanian society that demands a radical political change in Albania.
The Democrats, that is, the members of the largest opposition party, do not want war or division. Like the work of the Berat socialist who said we don't want lights or water, only Nano and Meta don't fight. These are the fabrications of the elite. Every militant who knows what political work in the territory is, wants him to feel like a real shareholder of his force, and the party to be open to everyone's contribution.
A supporter demands that the opposition be ready for any influx that comes from parts of society that do not want to be governed by Edi Rama and his model. Meanwhile, Albanian society requires an opposition to make a drastic change in policy, as much as possible.
First, a renewal of the old class is required, and then a political concept which is in resonance with the times.
The problem that DP bureaucrats are dealing with is completely wrong. The opposition cannot be an idea to systematize the deputies or officials who are annoyed by Sali Berisha, Lulzim Basha and Ilir Meta. If it continues like this, then all the groups that this opposition controls as 30-year-old political rudiments, will naturally die out, and will return to marginality, as marginal are the ridiculous exponents of this opposition, such as Kujtim Gjuzi or even Rudina Hajdari e Selami. Janisheri, not to speak of others.
The opposition is not a union of mayors and driving schools, it is something else. But of course, this cannot be done by deputies or officials who are not loved by anyone. This process should be pushed either by a person or a group of people.
The best of the best would be that Lulzim Basha and Enkelejd Alibeaj, together with the DP leaders who have survived as an anti-Berisha political core, should pave the way for a constituent season for a new opposition. Which should have clear phases of re-establishment, from receiving opinions, to the procedure of elections or the inclusiveness of society in the new opposition.
It doesn't need to be a science; the world of Europe knows it. Meetings are held in each district with everyone who is interested, of course not ordinary individuals, but those who have an opinion. The only thing that Gaz Bardhi is right about is that the election of the leader cannot be done quickly. Because it needs a long process of inclusion and membership, which will lead to the election of the leadership in a new race according to the principle one member one vote. If Lulzim Basha will do or lead this process, he can do it. But he will have to announce the platform from now on, and not meet people on the orders of the party who also have the questions directed. This strategy will produce a DP, perhaps without Berisha, but with a partisan logic.
Lulzim Basha cannot raise the new DP only with the centrists, as Berisha did in 2005 by luring the occasional opportunists.
Albania has changed, as has society, which has a greater immunity to political fraudsters. Once upon a time, even extraordinary people, such as the husband of the thieving cleaner or the memory of the "Christian Democratic" driving schools, received votes in municipal elections. Today they don't even vote for their children. No more 'brandy meatballs'.
The opposition should take the example of Rama's SP to build its opposite. So not a clientelistic community, but of course a union of interests, where the rights and benefits are open, and not distributed like lokume, as Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta have distributed them. Otherwise, our opposition, no matter how loud it is, will end up like the Turkish opposition that Rexhepi mocked on the bus: Bye Bye Kemal! / Pamphlet
