Ashtu bëri pas Saimir Tahirit me dy bashkëpunëtorë të tjerë të afërt të tij: Ditmir Bushatin dhe Damian Gjiknurin. Dy nga emrat më të rëndësishëm në PS, njëri në fushën e marrëdhënieve me jashtë, e tjetri në fushën e ligjit.
Ditmir Bushati, ishte ministri i Jashtëm ndër më të rëndësishmit që ka pasur Shqipëria, i cili arriti të ketë një akses dhe aktivitet politik të nivelit të lartë në 5 vitet e mandatit të tij.
Ashtu si edhe me të tjerët, edhe me Bushatin, opozita nisi një betejë të gjatë sulmi, frontale dhe poshtë brezit.
Në vitin 2019, kur Edi Rama u përball me një protestë të fortë studentësh, që rrezikoi seriozisht pushtetin e tij, largoi Ditmir Bushatin dhe e zëvendësoi me një ‘kastravec’ që kujtonte se Naim Frashëri është ende gjallë.
Dhe në mes të një negociate historike me Greqinë, për të diskutuar uljen e tensioneve mes dy vendeve. Negociatë, që nëse do të dilte me sukses, mund të arrinte të ishte politikani i vetëm i suksesshëm socialist që arriti diçka brenda një mandati. Vonë, shumë vonë, Ilir Meta, në kulmin e imazhit të tij negativ e mori në mbrojtje jo hapur, po me kulisa, duke i prishur më shumë punë Ditmirit sesa t’i rregullojë.
Rama largoi më pas Damian Gjiknurin, i cili ishte një socialist karriere nga ata me “asht”, ‘figlio d’arte’, djalë i një deputeti me reputacion i të majtës si Lekë Gjiknuri, një nga shkencëtarët e natyrës dhe mjedisit, që s’pati kurrë pushtet ekzekutiv.

Pasi i hoqi këto të dy, ofroi një ekonomiste nga Shkodra, të cilën e bëri deri edhe zëvendës Kryeministre. Kush e mban mend sot Senida Mesin? Natyrisht shumë pak! E bëri për ta kthyer në një kurban të luftës së klaneve në Shkodër, duke ja kundërvënë Ditmir Bushatit, për të favorizuar Tom Doshin.
