Will SPAK be able to restore trust in the elections?

The SPAK strategy that has raised eyebrows on both sides of politics has the potential to leave them speechless regarding the camouflaged use of organized crime in the integrity of the electoral process, or through the highly sophisticated measures of special investigative techniques that are being claimed to be applied recently.

In a logical way, the leader of the opposition, Sali Berisha, has the argument ready for the "losing" situation after the end of the elections: Our votes were stolen! There are no fair elections in Albania. Just as on the other hand, the majority has "fixated" on the victory and now its leader, Rama, in a not at all good state, only lets out thunders against the media, negates the opposition with all kinds of epithets with increasingly free metaphors. Sali Berisha and Edi Rama, the two leaders of "modern" Albanian times, agree on one point: SPAK has crossed the red line.

The majority has emphasized this after the measure of Veliaj's arrest and imprisonment, while the opposition has gone beyond all limits, threatening through Berisha's mouth that it will completely dismantle the institution that has been a symbol of Justice until now! The latest act of SPAK to investigate electoral crime and the touch of the strong has tensed the electoral situation of the camps of the two parties that officially cannot work with clear rules of the game like few times before. That is why it usually happens in our country that the loser does not greet the winner and only complains.

But the SPAK strategy that has raised eyebrows on both sides of politics has the potential to leave them speechless regarding the camouflaged use of organized crime in the integrity of the electoral process, or through the highly sophisticated measures of special investigative techniques that are being claimed to be applied recently. It is claimed that there will be intensive wiretapping, field monitoring and more frequent checks with the official launch of the campaign.

But the arrests with names like Bajrat and Çopjet show that SPAK is hitting the problem in the heart, just as it once worked on the famous wiretaps that were published for files 339 and 184, which proved how votes were collected for the socialists but which ultimately resulted in nothing. Ironically, SPAK itself. Meanwhile, SPAK has also scared the people of the DP, whose special methods are not going to fall later, but who have already been limited and minimized by their long time in opposition, division and lethargy.

SPAK is also silencing the patronageists, who have become a symbol of the victory of the past elections. It's just that this incursion must now be manifested with results and if SPAK does not justify it by respecting the principles of individual rights and if it does not exceed its competences, it will set another milestone, which will be an example for the standards of these elections. This is well known in the socialist camp because it will be support for the European path, as well as for the opposition if they know how to properly channel the standards.

But there is still time, just as there are many, many challenges, for SPAK to receive the merits that the public has long recognized. But will SPAK be able to restore trust in the elections? It is still early and this remains to be seen.
