Edi Rama is brave with the poor in the North and blind in the face of the construction mafia in the South

Edi Rama is brave with the poor in the North and blind in the face of the

In the South, the strong build. Those who have money, connections, and friends in power build. And the state turns a blind eye.

In Theth and Valbona, Edi Rama is brave. He demolishes a poor man's hut, takes out the drones, makes a video and talks about "protecting nature". But in the South he turns a blind eye. Where construction is being done on the seashore without permission, where nature is being destroyed for luxury and private interests, Rama has neither drone, nor camera, nor voice.

A concrete example is this video which is a fact and a construction in the Llaman area in Himara. Two citizens Gerti Sota and Soni Lala are building without any building permit. They openly break the law, without fear. They are building on the coastline, where you are not even allowed to touch the sand, let alone pour concrete. But no one stops them. Neither the state police, nor the construction police, nor the municipality, nor Edi Rama.

And do you know why? Because in the South, the strong build. Those who have money, connections and friends in power build. And the state turns a blind eye. Soni Lala, for example, is employed by the Himara Municipality. So, the one who builds without a permit is part of the institutions that should stop construction without a permit.

Soni Lala even builds without a permit and hides the construction in the name of someone else, Gerti Sota from Fier. An old trick, a kind of local mafia, where the law does not exist and everything is solved with money, friends and arrogance.

And in the North? It's different there. There's no mafia there, no strongmen, no money. There are only ordinary people, who can barely keep their breath alive. And there, the state is harsh. Because it's easy for it to oppress the weak.

The question is simple, why is everything allowed in the South, while everything is forbidden in the North? Why does Rama become a "statesman" in a forgotten village in the mountains, but remain silent like a "rabbit" when the mafia builds without permission by the sea?

For years we have been hearing Edi Rama talk about the "fight against illegal construction", about "nature protection", about "sustainable tourism", about "the law that forgives no one".

In words, Albania is an ecological and legal paradise. But in reality? Albania is divided in two, in the North where the state demolishes the huts of the poor and in the South, where the powerful build by the sea without asking the law, the state, or nature.

If you have a building by the sea, a resort in Llaman, a hotel in Dhërmi, a villa in Jalë, no one comes. The law does not apply there. Silence, fear and compromise reign there.

Because the real Albania is neither in government drones nor in tourism spots. It is in the daily injustice that hides behind illegal concrete.
