The black day of January 21st should have been investigated in time, but despite the fact that 13 years have passed, I fully believe that SPAK will follow this painful story to the end.
Paraphrasing the great actor Kadri Roshi, in the film "The Man with a Gun", I believe that now, there is no dilemma about the resumed investigations of January 21. This is due to the fact and merit of the International Court in Strasbourg, which recommended "the resumption of investigations by SPAK, for the state murders of January 21".
The "big bang" broke out, the investigations were reopened, and now all those who ordered and opened fire on the protesters within the Prime Minister's Office will be summoned, killing 4 innocent people and injuring dozens of others. The black day of January 21, which bloodied the main boulevard of Tirana, remains of course the blackest day in the history of transition and pluralism in Albania. The opposition of that time rose up in protests to stop the corruption and corrupt governance of the Democratic Party. The country was experiencing serious economic and social situations, while Albanians experienced poverty, unemployment, chaos and serious economic problems.
The protest called by the former opposition represented by the Socialist Party was the culmination of Albanians' patience. The time had come to say "STOP" to a government filled with corruption scandals, a prime minister who had become an ally of the oligarchy of the time, robbing and extorting the properties and assets of Albanians. The black day of January 21st should have been investigated in time, but despite the fact that 13 years have passed, I fully believe that SPAK will go to the end of this painful story. From the offices of the Prime Minister's Office and the recesses of that building, orders have come out for illegal actions, orders have come out to shoot at innocent protesters, so today justice is demanded.
The big "trial" broke out and after it, there are now SPAK and those prosecutors have integrity and human and professional morality. Even though he tries to defend himself and protect the sinners and murderers, I believe that this time Berisha has no chance of escaping legal punishment, no matter how guilty he will be declared. If this is the new justice, the justice that was so grandly propagated by Edi Rama and the internationals, then let's expect justice for January 21st.
Justice for those 4 fakirs who were killed between Bulerad and those dozens of others who were injured by the Kalash of Berisha's guards. January 21st remains the strongest test, which will morally and professionally re-evaluate SPAK and the judiciary in Albania.
