The German grand coalition, which is taking office for a four-year term under the leadership of the Christian Democrat Merz, is opposed to expanding the European Union before there is a fundamental reform. Still unofficial, this proposal is likely to become a decision in Brussels, given Germany's power in the Union.
A recurring internal discussion between and within the member states of the European Union, for the first time, seems to be part of the electoral campaign in Albania. The grand German coalition, which is taking a 4-year mandate under the leadership of the Christian Democrat Merz, is against the enlargement of the European Union before there is a fundamental reform. Still not formalized, this proposal is very likely to become a decision in Brussels, given Germany's power in the Union.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the great European powers, in cooperation with the democratic administration in the USA, decided to pursue a more open policy towards the countries of Eastern Europe, to create an opportunity for rapid integration, so that under the threats of the East, the border of the West would be as far away, as unified and as secure as possible. Even Serbia was seen as a state that would finally turn its eyes to the West, forgetting love and cutting ties of force with Russia.
This situation created by 2022 was exploited for a spectacular electoral find by Prime Minister Rama. Although at the beginning of the opening of the chapters being negotiated, he decided to seek a fourth mandate with the promise of EU membership and a European passport. After 12 years without a balance, precisely at the moment when no one expected him to find a word of justification for the broken promises and the establishment of a criminal economy, he found the solution in membership.
If there is no drinking water 24 hours a day, it will come by 2030, when we join the EU. If education went in the wrong direction, now that we are about to enter the EU you can study in the best schools, with minimal fees. If he gave free healthcare to his friends to sell Albanians as much as they want, with entry into the EU they can be treated wherever they want. If the rent in Albania seems high, go to Greece to live cheaper, if you are fed up with pesticides and salmonella, go to Italy and France to eat better and cheaper. If you cannot cope with the pollution of Tirana, go to Germany with the European passport that only Edi Rama guarantees. And, if you have already left, without waiting for the Prime Minister's golden solution, if you have been disappointed during the 12 years and have run away from sight, in the fifth mandate (since the fourth ends in 2029), you will live as an equal citizen of the EU.
It is enough to vote for Edi Rama 2 more times for your problems to end. It is not an advertisement for any tourist, travel, or employment company, nor is it an advertisement for miracle doctors who deceive through social networks or local media. It is Edi Rama's electoral campaign. It is the solution that only he can provide. And, if he speaks as President of the European Commission, with the certainty that no one in Albania and in Europe has, he can justify himself with the good words that come from Brussels from time to time.
It is true that Kaja Kallas, the vice president of the European Commission, denied him in Tirana and forced him to deny with his own mouth what he had made as promises in the pre-campaign, but after that Donald Tusk (not Trump), with the authority of the state that holds the EU presidency, announced another intergovernmental round table. Earlier, Marta Kos, the Commissioner for Enlargement, came to Tirana and gave him a basketball jersey, made especially for Rama, for the difficult integration game.
Filled with contradictions, Rama's electoral promise manages to overcome the dangers of disinformation. Michael Martens, a journalist known in Albania as a follower of developments in the region, wrote today in the most serious German newspaper, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, that with the new government of Germany, there will be no enlargement, without a reform. Although the journalist says that this is actually good news for the Western Balkans, the news in Albania is that Edi Rama's demagogy with Europe has taken a serious blow. At the very least, he will have to change the year again, perhaps in 2035. Perhaps he will have to vote 3 more times, to bring us drinking water.
