Opposition critics of the Criminal Code are in favor of a repressive Code

The ambiguous articles, high penalties, and the prison sentence for every offense increase the chances of having an arrogant and corrupt justice system, as the pressure exerted on citizens by their government at the time of investigation and trial is very high due to the Code. Simply put, a Criminal Code that increases the bargaining power of prosecutors and judges.

There are two types of accusations against Edi Rama regarding the new Criminal Code, even though he himself does not have any public stance on any particular trend.

The former, including me, accuse the government's working group of preparing a repressive Code, which goes against the strengthening of the fundamental freedoms of the citizen and which increases Albania's dependence on the power of the country's corrupt prosecutors and judges. The articles with many equivocations, the high penalties and the prison address for every misdemeanor increase the chances of having an arrogant and corrupt justice system, since the pressure that their power exerts on the citizen at the moment of investigation and trial is very high because of the Code. Simply put, a Criminal Code that increases the bargaining power of prosecutors and judges.

I am not discussing those articles about agitation and propaganda or treason against the homeland, as they are undone by the European Union filter.

The second tendency for criticism is that of the government's opponents, who surprisingly accuse Edi Rama of the opposite. They accuse him of softening the punishments for civil servants who commit administrative offenses, attempting to no longer call them criminal offenses.

They have even taken this case, which is still sporadic in the project, and have based the entire battle against the Code on the fact that Edi Rama is making a Code so that civil servants are not punished, then leaving it to the imagination of Fatos Lubonja, who speaks and writes "on hearing" that this Code is being made so that Rama can save the corrupt and become authoritarian. Come on, do both together!

Edi Rama has no chance of becoming authoritarian through the Criminal Code, but through political power, which now, also because of this opposition, he has in full. The repressive code makes prosecutors and judges authoritarian, thus transforming Albania from a parliamentary Republic into a Republic of prosecutors. The attempt to normalize punishments for state employees also not only does not make it authoritarian, but returns to normal the frightened administration, which refuses to sign and which is likely to make no one ask to go to a state office for work.

This must be the only opposition in the world that attacks that part of the Code that is not repressive and instead of fighting for the fundamental freedoms of citizens, it fights against the freedom of public servants to not be terrorized by the Republic of prosecutors.

And when you think about how these people want to come to power on behalf of the citizens, it seems like they have made up their minds not to come and take this opportunity to take revenge on the citizens who don't vote for them.
