I did not undertake to do investigative journalism. These are data found walking the streets of Tirana or navigating online. With a little effort, you can find the investment figures in the building permits.
The company "Nova construction" is currently investing in construction in Tirana. According to the description that this company gives to itself on its website https://novaconstruction.al/al/ it is relatively new in the field of construction.
Although "Nova Construction" is new in this field, it has at least seven major projects in Tirana.
It has under construction the "Ëhite Toëer" facility of 32,580 square meters, the construction value of 18 million euros.
"Mine Peza Residence" is another project under construction by this company. 33719 square meters where the construction value is 18.5 million euros.
The third project is called "Tirana Entry II", 50,000 square meters where the construction value is 27.5 million euros.
"Colonnade" is the fourth project that Nova is building in Tirana. With a construction area of 30855 square meters and a construction value of 17 million euros.
Nova has just completed the construction of the "Garden Building" building complex at the former Museum of Natural Sciences, 62,000 square meters, construction value 34 million euros.
"Nova 5 Star Hotel" is their sixth project. With 18,703 square meters and a construction value of 10 million euros, "Nova 5 Star Hotel" is the most modest in terms of value.
And we come to the tallest tower in the Balkans, started a few days ago in the flower garden behind TOB, where 85 thousand square meters, for which the construction value is at least 47 million euros.
The total minimum construction value by this company is somewhere around 172 million euros. Not bad for a company that has only been on the market for 11 years.
Now I, as a citizen, have a few minimal questions:
How is it possible that so many constructions are collected in a hand that has no declared capital for such investments?
Who is behind this firm that receives so many construction permits and whose name is not mentioned as an investor in any media?
What prevents the opposition from asking for transparency about the investment in the tower after TOB and why does it not mention the construction company and its owner?
In every international report, construction is considered a field where dirty money is being laundered en masse. Should we at least make sure that there is no such danger in the middle of Tirana?
