Instead of protests in front of the government, protests in front of SPAK

Even yesterday, when he appeared before SPAK, Berisha called for a protest in front of the doors of justice, precisely to show his political strength by combining his personal destiny with that of his political force.

Now disobedience, so much propagated by the Democratic Party, seems like a forgotten term and no one talks about it anymore. Likewise, the request for a technical government, seems like a nostalgic request that is not heard in a single word in Mr. Berisha's public rhetoric. Protests against the government have given way to protests against SPAK. Apparently, this is the main battle of the Democratic Party, giving a non-electoral and wrong message on the eve of the parliamentary elections. However, the opposition and part of the gray electorate are demanding the departure of the Rama government and not SPAK, as the Democratic Party has as its main political offer.

All this rhetoric, namely Sali Berisha's personal legal issue, is now turning into a battle for the Democratic Party. In fact, Berisha is more likely to win his battle with legal means than political ones. It is not clear why he is waging this political war against SPAK when time has shown that it has no effect. Meanwhile, if he uses legal means, he has a better chance of winning and not involving the largest opposition party in his personal battles.

When the Watergate scandal occurred in the United States of America and President Nixon was impeached by Congress, he resigned immediately and did not wait for this process to end. Many of his associates, voters and close friends asked him to fight the legal battle and not resign. However, he responded to these voices that if he continued this battle, he would no longer have time to deal with the governance of America because the process would take up too much of his time. And for me, he said, Americans and America are more important than my personal fate.

A great political gesture for someone who truly cares about the fate of the country and his party. If we jump into the Albanian context, the total opposite is happening. Sali Berisha not only did not resign after being declared non-grata and a legal process was opened against him, but on the contrary, he used his political strength, his party and his followers for his personal legal battle.

Even yesterday, when he appeared before SPAK, Berisha called for a protest in front of the doors of justice, precisely to show his political strength by combining his personal destiny with that of his political force.

Sali Berisha, up to the last level of justice, has the presumption of innocence and is an innocent man, but politically, his status, his personal relationship with internationals and with justice is consuming a lot of energy for the Democratic Party.

All energies, forces and actions are being used for his protection and not for the political battle that the DP would have to wage with the Rama government. The main focus of this party is no longer the overthrow of power, but the personal fate of Mr. Berisha. It is normal for this to happen. If these two fates come together, of course, a party can no longer have the power to wage a political battle with its opponent. It is not for nothing that Nixon resigned in America, because he knew very well that his legal position would no longer allow him time to deal with the Americans and America.

While in the case of Berisha, the complete opposite is happening. Endless energy spent on his personal battle with justice. However, this is already the decision that the democrats have made, to protect their leader and sacrifice power. From a human point of view, it may be a commendable act, but it is not at all political in the sense of the goal of power that a party and an opposition should have.
