In 2009, the official DP coalition secured a full 713,000 valid votes. From election to election, the votes of the DP coalitions shrank, and on May 11, 2025, they dropped to 529,000.
Since May 11, Berisha and other DP politicians have appeared on television daily, trying to explain how the SP's votes have increased ("the Bulgarian train" in a village in Peqin, the polling station camera in a village in Fier, pensioner bonuses, the votes of immigrants from Greece, etc., etc.).
But before they explain why the SP's votes increased, they need to explain why the votes for the official DP coalitions have declined dramatically from 2009 onwards...
Thus, in 2009, the official DP coalition secured a full 713 thousand valid votes (see the graph below). From election to election, the votes of the DP coalitions shrank, and on May 11, 2025, they dropped to 529 thousand.
They achieved even this low level thanks to the help of 30,000 votes from the former LSI and 47,000 emigrants who sent their votes by mail.
