There is an attempt by Berisha to present himself as the chief of staff of the White House and the State Department, commenting on every appointment or move of leaders after the US elections. And of course, at the center of the attacks are the two most recent former US ambassadors to Albania, Donald Lu and Yuri Kim, who most recently held senior positions in the State Department and who, normally, should move from their jobs after the elections to the new administration.

However, by persecuting them about where they are moving and what they are doing, it is not that they are influencing their lives, but they want to raise the false myth in Albania that the two of them have prevented them from being a strong opposition and coming to power.
And this is a common lie on Berisha's part.
Ambassador Lu was here before the 2017 elections, and those elections were consensual in terms of preparations and were held with a joint DP-SP government. The Rama-Basha agreement, so much praised by Berisha, ended with a joint government and a majority of agencies run by the DP. I don't know what harm the American ambassador did to these DP people, except for blessing the agreement and supporting Lulzim Basha.
Yuri Kim as well. She became the initiator of the 2021 electoral agreement to return the DP to parliament, and Basha and Rama signed an agreement under her guarantees. She has been neutral before the elections and has only been critical of the government on some aspects of corruption and decriminalization.
The whole myth of the opposition split is a perfect lie of this mandate. Sali Berisha was declared “non grata” by the US a month or so after the elections, and Yuri Kim’s fight for the DP to respect the US verdict was her functional duty. She asked Basha that Berisha not identify with the DP parliamentary group, and he did so as an obligation to the US and the support it had given the DP. When he was hesitating, she made the “grass” statement that has stuck in Berisha’s mind.
So, there has not been a single election since 2013 where the opposition has entered divided because of the US. On the contrary, the US has been on the opposition's side before every election.
The opposition split occurred after the 2021 elections and in 2025, it is the first time that the opposition is entering the elections divided, but not because of the US or Great Britain, but because of Berisha, who wants the DP as a bunker for himself and his criminalized family.
Therefore, it is not good to lie to Democrats by telling them that we lost these three elections because we were divided by the US, but now we will win because we are united.

These three parties have lost elections united and with the US on their side. They will lose these elections divided with LaCivita on their side.
So, that expression "you will eat grass" is after the last parliamentary elections of 2021. It has not yet influenced any election. It may influence these elections, but "grass" is no more. It is over as an offer. Grass was an option when you were united.
