Berisha managed to humiliate those who were serious about their bid as independent candidates, by fielding more candidates for Mayor than there are commissioners in Tirana.
At first, those who were serious about running as independents appeared. Then, little by little, those who began to believe in themselves, and finally, those who the Berisha family believes should be used in this campaign.
Within two days, as much time as Berisha has given independent candidates to offer themselves for Tirana, the number of candidates will be greater than the number of members of the DP Presidency.
This is a good thing, as the DP Presidency will have a hard time choosing who is the best among them and will propose a "primary" between them, depending on who gets the most votes.
The primaries will be organized within the week, as there is not much time to delay, but along with those who offered themselves, candidates offered by other opposition parties will also be included.
If this condition is accepted, then sooner or later, candidates who have offered themselves from within the DP must also be included.
Thus, at the beginning of next week we may have a broad list of candidates from three categories:
· First, those who offered themselves as independents,
· Second, those offered by other opposition parties,
· Third, those who volunteer from the DP.
Once the lists are approved and the ballots are prepared, voting in the primary will begin.
The elections will be fair, as in the tradition of other opposition parties, except for the DP, there are no complaints about vote theft. So they will remain vigilant.
At the end of the vote, of course, the candidate with the most votes is expected to be the one offered by the DP. But above the DP there is another forum that is the sponsor of the DP and in this case, the winning candidate will be declared the one offered by the Shkelzeni board.
After that, all other candidates will pledge their support for the winning candidate of the primaries.
In this way, the opposition also unites more around the DP and the DP unites more around Berisha. Berisha also continues to rely more on children. So we have a truly competitive and unifying process before the selection of the candidate, a process that will be remembered for a long time: how it removed from the DP both the shame of not running in the elections, and the responsibility for the result.
