22-year-old Erisa Aliaj, who had an accident yesterday evening in Durrës, died in the hospital.
The police have informed that the young woman was crossing the road when she was hit by a fast moving vehicle. She was immediately sent to the hospital in Durrës, but she could not escape the injuries she received and died today.
It is learned that the police have arrested the driver, identified as Indrit Uka, while investigations continue to reveal the causes and full circumstances of the accident.
"Yesterday evening around 21:45, in neighborhood no. 17/1, Durrës, citizen IU, 24 years old, while driving his vehicle, had an accident with citizen EA, 22 years old, (pedestrian) who was sent to the Durrës regional hospital and was under the care of doctors, the citizen E. A, due to the injuries received, died today in the hospital.
The Road Traffic Specialists of DVP Durrës, immediately after the accident, arrested the citizen IU, 24 years old, resident of Durrës, for the criminal offense "Violation of traffic rules".
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further actions", the police announcement states.
