A large action took place today in Rinas, after 8 police officers were detained. The Police Supervision Agency has executed the security measures issued for them by the court at the request of the prosecution.
The action of AMP has started for some criminal offenses, after a scheme was discovered with the aim of crossing the border of persons who had broken the time limit of staying in the Schengen area or who had been stopped from traveling.
Specifically, for the period March 2023-March 2024, the citizen Enea Sulejmani, who has a tourist agency "Bus Albania", with the object of activity, among others, "trading of plane tickets", kept in constant contact with the controller of the border police at the Airport. Rinas, Inspector Briken Tereziu, to whom he sent data and travel documents of persons who were not allowed to travel to EU countries, and the latter personally or through his colleagues, against monetary amounts, allowed their passage according to destinations.
The security measure "prison arrest" was executed for Briken Tereziu and Enea Sulejmani, while "house arrest" for Inspector Sokol Xhika, Inspector Ermal Mesi and Inspector Aris Drini.
Meanwhile, Inspector Ylli Prençi, Inspector Rei Shenjtolli, Inspector Enkis Aliaj and Inspector Argil Hasa are under the security measure "obligation to appear".
Currently, the investigations continue in the open state for 8 other police officers, with the duties of Assistant Specialists, inspectors at the Border Section, at the Rinas Airport Border Police Station. It is expected that AMP itself will regulate by revealing details.
