How did the incident happen?
The incident occurred at noon on January 13, at Durrës Hospital. While receiving medical treatment, Altin Ndoci asked to go to the toilet. He was accompanied by 2 police officers who were guarding him at the door of the hospital room, but during this moment he attacked them and escaped.
The escape plan was well-organized, as an "Audi A7" with a license plate stolen earlier this year was waiting for him at the exit of the Durrës hospital.
According to police data, it is suspected that this vehicle was captured by cameras on the Durrës-Tirana highway, thus enabling dozens of checks to be carried out in different areas of Tirana.
During Tuesday evening, numerous police forces also carried out checks in his hometown, in the village of Krajen in Lezha, but also in several places where he is suspected of having trusted people, while in fact it is still doubtful that the police have accurate information on the vehicle in which the fugitive may have been traveling, as according to confidential information there are suspicions that the number of people involved in the implementation of Ndoc's plan is large.
Who is Altin Ndoci?
Altin Ndoci became known to the public after the confession of Nuredin Dumani, a justice collaborator, who revealed his connections in the murder of two brothers, Besmir and Viktor Haxhia in Durrës and the execution of two other people on March 2, 2020, Dorjan Shkoza and Anxhelo Avdia.
According to the police, Altin Ndoci has close ties to criminal groups in the Puka area and is socially connected to other individuals known for serious crimes, such as Arben Muço, arrested in an attempted armed robbery in Fier in 2018.
He is also suspected of having participated in the event where Xhuljan Sollaku was killed and Arben Muço was injured, while the other members of the group escaped.
During the investigation, police seized evidence related to his criminal network, including abandoned cars, fingerprints and bloodstains, which linked Altin Ndoci to some of the violent events in the cities of Durrës and Tirana.
