13 inert companies have been seized after yesterday's arrests in IMT Kurbin.
13 entities that receive inerts in the Mat river have been placed in preventive seizure, as they were found to be without documentation, and the inspectors who did not carry out the inspection are being investigated.
In the case of the constructions in Patok, the investigations came after the clues, as an elderly man who was working overtime was sent to court and in the court session he stated that his intervention was quite small compared to what was happening in the area.
For this reason, the prosecutor's office started investigations that lasted about 6 months and after the verifications, it turned out that they did not have a permit, and as a result, one subject went into preventive seizure and the investigations continue. This facility is being built on the main road to Patok and makes it quite visible to the inspectors who should have intervened.
This fact has led to the initiation of investigations against IVMT and IKMT officials for abuse of duty as they did not carry out the control in the territory as is their activity and even more so as it is a protected area and according to the Prosecution they did not act in compliance with the law.
On April 29, 2024, the director of the Local Inspectorate of Kurbin Territory Protection, Jetmir Muzhika, was arrested, as well as Flor Gjini, the former chief inspector of IKMT Lezhë, who is currently the postmaster. While all the inspectors have been suspended thanks to the investigations started for constructions without permission in the area of Patok.
