A young Albanian was injured in Bergamo, Italy, after being shot by the owner of a house in which the 26-year-old Albanian had entered to rob.
The event happened on Saturday evening (April 27) in Longuelo, in a suburb of the city. The 85-year-old former financier, who was carrying a gun under his pillow, shot the young Albanian with a bullet in the neck. The young Albanian is out of danger for his life.
He was arrested on a charge of aggravated robbery after being treated and released from the hospital. The police also arrested his accomplice. Both are in jail on charges of aggravated robbery and resisting a public official.
The two, armed with hoods, entered Longuelo's two-story home through a door at the back, which the burglars pried open with a crowbar. After entering the apartment, they were spotted by the old man, who was watching TV.
They allegedly threatened the elderly man to hand over the money and valuables. At that moment, the 85-year-old grabbed the gun and shot at the Albanians, where one of them was injured. While the ex-financier's wife called the police.
