A well-known Greek businesswoman, Dimitra Katsafadou, has fallen prey to a robbery. Greek media reports that on February 17, 2023, the 32-year-old Albanian assistant stole the sum of 290,000 euros from the well-known businesswoman from her residence in Northeast Attica.
After stealing the amount of money, the Albanian woman left the country, where she was located and arrested in Great Britain. The 32-year-old woman apologized and was released on bail. The catalyst for this case was the testimony of Dimitra Katsafado's nurse, who described how she saw the defendant holding two green garbage bags in which she had placed 290,000 euros.
"When I arrived home, a silver-red car was parked outside and an unknown man was talking on a cell phone outside the vehicle. I asked him why he was here and he replied that he was waiting for the accused.
I then entered the house with my keys, but at the door I met the accused, who was holding in her hands green bags similar to those used to hold the company's sum of money. He gave these bags to the unknown man who was waiting in the car," said the nurse.
A person from Dimitra Katsafado's family stated to the police that "The defendant has been Dimitra Katsafado's confidant for about two years. Although she took care of the house and lived in her apartment, she had no keys to it and was not tasked with doing much about managing the company's money. But she knew about the closet where the money was kept inside the house and about the location of the key that opens that closet."
While the brother of Dimitra Katsafado, Nikos Malakodimos, emphasized that he filed a lawsuit on the same day when the theft was discovered.
"We have seen that the amount of money is missing. This man was found crossing the border on the same day in Albania. It is money that exists in a company and is deposited in banks, because it is from the retail sale of the company," said Malakodimos.
