A serious incident was recorded at noon on January 2 in Orikum. According to preliminary information, citizen Llogora Xhebroj, 52 years old, killed his wife and then ended his life.
The incident took place in the couple's apartment.
Sources indicate that the 52-year-old initially physically raped his wife, Sose Xhebroj, and then strangled her.
It was the couple's children who notified the Orikum Health Center.
The victim's lifeless body was transported to the morgue of the Vlora Regional Hospital, while a little later, her husband committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol in the apartment's garage.
A shell casing was also found at the scene.
It is learned that the couple owned a local establishment at the exit of Orikum on the road to the village of Dukat, and were the parents of two sons, 15 and 18 years old.
According to family members, they had had constant conflicts and had separated about two years ago, only to reunite later, but the conflicts had continued and they were recently in the process of divorcing.
