A 31-year-old man was arrested after being caught with a gun in Rinas while attempting to cross into Italy. The pistol-type weapon was found in his handbag.
It is learned that during questioning, the young man denied having any knowledge of the weapon, justifying himself with the argument that he did not know who had put it in his bag and that he was now looking at it.
Investigators suspect that the 31-year-old attempted to smuggle the weapon into Italy, where he is suspected of selling it in the neighboring country. He has a criminal record and was arrested in Italy for wounding.
