An Albanian man has been arrested in Switzerland after being accused of trafficking 52 kg of cocaine and 8 kg of heroin. Seemingly family-oriented and regular, the 40-year-old was leading a double life as he was involved in the transportation of narcotics.
In just six months, he sold 52 kilograms of cocaine and eight kilograms of heroin in Aargau. The sales amounted to over 2.5 million Swiss francs. Investigators tracked him down through a confiscated cryptophone. These devices from Sky Global enable encrypted communication, especially for criminal purposes.
Europol managed to decrypt the conversations. This gave Swiss police access to incriminating messages from the drug lord. They found photos of cash and detailed instructions for drug shipments.
Investigators were able to link the accused to the username “TP46MT.” In court, the defendant remained silent about the charges. His defense attorney argued that the conversations were not admissible as evidence and sought an acquittal for his client.
However, according to the Aargauer Zeitung, the District Court in Lenzburg followed the public prosecutor's office and sentenced him to 16 years in prison and 15 years of deportation from the country.
