Interpol Tirana has arrested 36-year-old Armand Lushaj (Jazaj) from Vlora in Fier prison.
The arrest of this citizen was made after the Court of Appeal of Florence has sentenced him to 9 years of imprisonment for the criminal offense "Trafficking in narcotics", provided by the Italian Criminal Code.
Of the total sentence given by the Italian court, the 33-year-old has to serve 7 years, 8 months and 4 days of imprisonment.
This citizen is suspected of having trafficked significant amounts of cocaine and cannabis in the cities of Florence, Arezzo, Brindisi and Rieti, Italy, between 2016 and 2018.
The young man was in the prison of Fier, after the Court of Vlora assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Deliberate murder, remaining in the attempt, and "Unauthorized production and possession of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".
In 2020, in the neighborhood "29 Nëntori", Vlorë, this citizen attempted to kill citizen A. Xh. with a pistol, leaving him injured.
The 36-year-old was arrested in Greece and in July 2023, he was extradited from Greece to Albania.
The provisional arrest of Lushaj was made, with the aim of extradition to Italy.
