An 18-year-old Albanian man and two 26-year-old girls, twin sisters, lost their lives as a result of the explosion in an illegal fireworks warehouse in Herculaneum.
According to the media, for the young Albanian, this was his first day of work, and at the moment when the explosion occurred, the three young men were eating lunch.
It is also reported that the factory where they worked was unlicensed, while the police have started work to clarify the circumstances of this tragic event.
" The police called us, telling us that the fireworks factory where my 18-year-old son-in-law and two girls in their twenties were staying had exploded. As far as we know there were no other people inside the hut because my son-in-law called us at 1pm saying he was having a sandwich with the girls and they were alone in the building. It was the first day of work for all three. From what we understand the factory opened between Friday and Sunday and today was the first actual day of work. I don't know who runs it, I only know that this morning they went to pick up the groom in front of a bar to take him to work ," said a witness.
