Jorgo alias Olsi Leku, is the 44-year-old who was extradited this Thursday from Greece to Albania, as accused of the execution of father and son in Elbasan.
Leku was arrested in Greece in 2020, after being declared internationally wanted by the Albanian authorities.
The Court of First Instance Elbasan, on 12.06.2020, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for committing the criminal offenses "Murder in other qualifying circumstances against two or more persons" committed in cooperation and "Arms possession without permission".
He is accused of murdering Gentian Beqir, who was executed in his apartment even though he was guarded by police forces at the doors of the house. The event happened about 8 years ago, where Beqir's father also died.
On 15.08.2012, in the neighborhood "Çlirimi", Elbasan, in collaboration with other people, he killed with a firearm the citizen Ardian Meta alias Gentian Beqiri, who was under "house arrest" and his father Nezir Celibacy.
The execution of Gentian Beqiri is suspected to have been ordered by the Çapja tribe, as they accused him of being the author of the murder of Sokol Çajpjas, an event which continues to bring victims to Elbasan and beyond.
Gentian Beqiri was at home at the time of the murder, as the court had given the security measure of arrest and imprisonment due to paralysis. He was arrested in an attempt in Saranda, but during the attempt to escape from the police station, he jumped from a height and was paralyzed.
Olsi Leka together with another person deceived two police officers who were on guard duty, posing as the son of Beqir's aunt. Gentian Beqiri was shot with a silencer, while his father died in the hospital from a heart attack due to physical violence.
