The arrested are Klajdi Bilbili, 29 years old, Altin Alla, 48 years old, and Danjel Dita, 34 years old, residents of Lushnja, suspected of being the organizer of the network.
4 people have been arrested by the Gjirokastra police after being accused of trafficking illegal immigrants.
Among them was the leader of the group, as well as a 17-year-old minor. The latter was driving the vehicle in which the 9 illegal immigrants from Egypt were being transported.
The 17-year-old was found by blue uniforms on the Gjirokastra-Tepelena axis, at the place called 'Kardhiqit Bridge', driving a "Mercedes Benz" type vehicle and transporting immigrants for payment from Gjirokastra to Shkodra.
When the police signaled him to stop, the minor did not obey the order, abandoned the vehicle and ran away, but was later put in handcuffs.
The other two people who were arrested were driving another vehicle, a 'Fiat', and were checking the road to signal the 17-year-old to the presence of the Police. While the organizer of the group was a 34-year-old resident of Lushnja, who was also arrested. The 2 vehicles, 400 euros and 6 mobile phones were seized as material evidence.
"The Section for the Investigation of Illegal Trafficking, in cooperation with the Road Police Sector, the Operational Sector and the Special Force "Eagle", of the Gjirokastër Police Department, in continuation of the work to crack down on the criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign citizens, for profit, for illegal border crossing, based on information obtained through police channels, have finalized the police operation codenamed "Attempt 2", as a result of which the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:
KB, 29 years old, AA, 48 years old, and a 17-year-old minor citizen, all three residents of Lushnje.
Also, citizen DD, 34 years old, resident of Lushnje, was detained, as he is suspected of having the role of organizer in this criminal activity.
The 17-year-old minor citizen was caught red-handed by the Police services, on the "Gjirokastër-Tepelena" road axis, at the place called "Ura e Kardhiqit", driving a "Mercedes Benz" vehicle, without a driving license, was transporting 9 immigrants from Egypt, towards Shkodra, for profit, with the aim of illegally crossing the border, and did not obey the order of the Police officer for control, but abandoned the vehicle and left", the Gjirokastër Police announced.
