A 33-year-old woman and her 32-year-old accomplice have been arrested by police after the personal belongings of two people were forcibly taken.
Meanwhile, a 41-year-old man was also arrested after purchasing a stolen cell phone from the two young men. The arrested men have been identified as Vatë Kolndreu, Migena Kodhelaj, and Emirjon Shpendi.
The police seized personal belongings and 4 cell phones, suspected to have been stolen, the vehicle, various clothing and a hoodie used by the 2 arrested.
"The Librazhd Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector of the Elbasan DVP, in continuation of the work to crack down on criminal activity in the field of property and wealth theft, as a result of rapid investigative actions carried out with proactive methods, under the direction of the Elbasan Prosecution, has finalized the police operation codenamed "Partners in crime".
As a result of this operation, it was possible to identify, capture and arrest in flagrante delicto the following citizens:
VK, 32 years old, resident of Shkodra and MK, 33 years old, resident of Tirana, for the criminal offense of "Theft by force", committed in collaboration;
E. Sh., 40 years old, resident of Pogradec, for the criminal offense of "Appropriation of stolen money or goods".
From the investigations conducted during the operation, it is suspected that citizens MK and VK, in collaboration with each other, committed 2 thefts in the village of Sheje, specifically:
-On 25.07.2025, they forcibly took the wallet containing a sum of money from a 68-year-old man, who was slightly injured;
-On 27.07.2025, they forcibly took the bag and cell phone of a 62-year-old woman, who was slightly injured. She received treatment at the Librazhd hospital and is out of danger for her life. The cell phone they stole from the 62-year-old woman, they sold to citizen E. Sh.
During the operation, the mobile phone purchased by citizen E. Sh. and 3 mobile phones found on the perpetrators, which are suspected of being stolen, the stolen bag, the vehicle used by the perpetrators, which was rented by citizen V. K., and various items of clothing suspected of being used during the thefts were seized.
"Investigations are ongoing to fully document the criminal activity of these citizens. The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan, for further action," the police announced.
