In Spain, famous footballers such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Morata and Karim Benzema have fallen prey to robbers who entered their residences while the stars of La Liga were engaged in the field of play.
In some of the cases, the robbers were Albanian citizens, who operate in the luxury areas of Marbella, Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona.
Exactly one of the most vocal Albanian "hawks", who is known by the nickname "Alberto", confessed in an interview with journalist Carlos Quílez, in the podcast 'Sumario Abierto' of the Spanish newspaper El Español.
Initially, the Albanian robber, who claims to control a network of 100 "hawks", confessed to the robberies in the homes of Benzema, Ronaldo and Johan Cruyff.
"We robbed Benzema when he didn't catch us. We also tried to rob Cristiano's house in Madeira, but the loot wasn't tempting," said Alberto.
Then he showed that in 2012, they entered Cruyff's house, not knowing it was his, and that they left with only 20,000 euros of stolen items. Once inside, they noticed his photos with Dennis Bergkamp and realized who they were dealing with.
Then he showed how he avoided the temptation to steal the house of the eight-time winner of the "Golden Ball", Lionel Messi.
The leader of the gang of robbers from Albania and Kosovo, who is currently on the run, said that he avoided the Argentine "flea" from his list because he had a lot of respect for him.
"About a year ago, others offered me (to steal) the house of his parents, Messi's family. Messi was in Paris at the time. I went to see him because I know the area very well. I didn't want to because of respect for Messi. I didn't do it because I respect him. Point".
Furthermore, the Albanian hawk revealed that he also prevented others from robbing Messi's residence.
"I stopped several times people who wanted to rob Messi's house, people who asked me for an opinion, but I can't stop them all... As far as I was able to stop them, I'm very proud."
