A 55-year-old Albanian man was arrested by the Italian police after hitting his wife with a hammer on April 25.
Italian media reports that the incident took place in San Mauro Pascoli.
The 55-year-old man waited for his youngest daughter to leave the house, then, in a fit of jealousy, took a hammer and hit his wife on the head and face.
It is learned that in an attempt to hide his wife's screams, he raised the volume of the television.
When the wife tried to resist, the 55-year-old man bit her ear, severing a part of it.
In the end, he tried to suffocate her, but the wounded and almost unconscious woman managed to escape and asked for help from the neighbors.
