The court of first instance in Durrës has left Ilir Koçiljen in prison, who two days ago killed his neighbor Halil Koka with a knife, after he parked his car in the yard of the palace.
In court, the defendant appeared remorseful, but in his statement he appeared mentally unstable.
He first stated that he lost several tenders in front of the mafia and then explained how the incident happened. He said that there were 3 people who were following him to beat him, among them the victim.
Judge Besjana Garxenaj asked for an examination of the psychological and mental state.
The author was convicted in 2018 for stalking a citizen and was sentenced to 4 months and 20 days in prison. He lives alone in Durrës, as his family members are emigrating. The defense lawyer asked for a security measure, arrest with a fixed term in prison and to assess his mental state. In the end, the court imposed an indefinite prison sentence.
