Several dozen police forces of Shkodra, supported by those of rapid intervention and RENEA, have carried out a surprise control in the apartment of the brother of the much-wanted, Eljo Hato.
Searches in the apartment were unsuccessful, while the police still have no official notification regarding this action. So, Eljon's brother, Elkier Hato, has accused the police forces of being violent during the search action, killing one dog and injuring the other dog.
In this apartment, the police have carried out checks several times, but they were unable to catch the much-wanted Eljon Hato.
But who is Eljo Hato?
34-year-old Eljo Hato would be included in the police files for the first time in 2014 when, after a banal conflict in Shkodër, he killed one of his peers and injured another. But the dangerousness of the young man from Shkodran, known by his friends as Esmeraldo, did not end only with the murder of his friend Indri Hylli and the wounding of Jetmir Molla.
He was arrested in 2015 in Laç, while in the prison of Saint Kolli, it is suspected that he ordered another murder from inside the cell. It is about the order to eliminate the Shkodra hospital radiologist Agron Terolli. Fortunately, the incident was prevented by the police of Shkodra after arresting the 21-year-old who would commit the crime.
After questioning the arrested person, it was learned that the doctor's son had injured a person with a firearm and left him physically disabled. Hato and the doctor's son were serving their sentence in the same prison, while for the police the incident remained under suspicion of revenge.
After three years in prison, Hato was released under unclear circumstances, while in the summer of 2018 he was involved in a conflict with weapons in the bar in the area of the former block in Tirana, where he was injured. Three years after the event, he was declared wanted again by the Shkodra Police, as he was suspected of having participated in an organized assassination attempt to kill Taulant Pepaj.
The attempt fortunately failed and the target escaped the bullets.
A2 CNN also published the video of this event in February 2021 in the Skënderbeg neighborhood of Shkodra. In the video, it seems that three people are participating and that they are shooting in the direction of Pepaj's vehicle, this is also a person filed by the police of Shkodra for injuries.
Initially, according to the police, it was Eljo Hato who approached Taulant Pepa's vehicle and tried to open the driver's door with a pistol in his hand, but failed, as the car was moving. After him comes Sehar Xhenje and after Pepa's car leaves, both of them shoot in her direction.
But during the investigations, the Shkodra prosecutor's office did not file charges against the two police suspects, Eljo Hato and Sehar Xhenje, as according to the charge, they were not involved in this attack. The court of Shkodra found only Shkëlzen Xhenje guilty of "Possessing weapons without permission", who was sentenced to only 3 years and 8 months of imprisonment.
