One of the minor children who was seriously injured yesterday evening in the mafia attack that occurred in the capital will be transported abroad for treatment.
It is learned that the 17-year-old, M. Demir, will be transported to Italy to receive more specialized medical assistance. Meanwhile, the 11-year-old remains in critical condition and will also be sent abroad.
How did the incident happen?
An attack in Lundë near the Agro Ushqimor market in Tirana left four young people injured. The young people were traveling in a Mercedes-Benz G Class when they were shot with a barrage of bullets by as yet unidentified perpetrators.
Four people were traveling in the 'G Class', Arec Stafa, 34 years old, Kjan Mullai, 19 years old, and two minors, M. Demir, 17 years old, and D. Demir, 11 years old.
All four injured were taken to the Trauma Hospital yesterday evening, but the two minors were in serious condition due to their injuries.
What is the main line of investigation?
The main line of the prosecution's investigation is that the assassination was a mix-up of targets, as the perpetrators were suspected of having set out to kill Katerina Beqo, the wife of the late Roan Brahimi, who was executed about a year ago in an assassination attempt in Greece.
According to investigators, the perpetrators awaited her return to Tirana, while the fatal vehicle collision is suspected to have led to the injury of the four young men. Beqo lives in the same villa complex in the Lundra area where the injured young men also lived, and moreover, cars of the same model and with similar license plates were used. To be precise, the license plate of Katerina Beqo's car differs by only one letter from the car in which the young men were traveling the previous night.
Meanwhile, a few hours ago, Gjovalin Prendi, the father of Roan Brahimi, was assassinated in Pllana, Lezha. The latter, also known as Sidorel Prendi, was a name that carried a dark history of connections to the world of crime, revenge, and serial assassinations.
