Two injured and one dead is the balance of the serious incident that occurred at the Court of Appeals in Tirana.
Judge Astrit Kalaja has died after being shot by a person near the premises of the Court of Appeal.
Two other people are also reported to have been injured during the conflict between the judge and the perpetrator, who has been identified as Elvis Shkëmbi, aged around 30. The two injured are reported to be a father and son.
According to preliminary information, it is suspected that the author Elvis Shkëmbi was a party to a court case led by Judge Kalaja.
The perpetrator was placed in handcuffs and his firearm was seized. Two other people who were in the courtroom at the time were injured.
It is unclear how an armed person managed to enter the premises of the Court of Appeal, managing to pass security checks and the electronic weapons scanner.
