Other details have come to light from the serious event in Largo, Florida, where Albanian Renato Muhaj killed his 32-year-old ex-partner Suela Saliaj, also Albanian, and then kidnapped her 8-year-old daughter.
According to American media, the 32-year-old woman was found dead on the floor of her bedroom, covered in blood.
The young woman was killed by her ex-husband, 34-year-old Renato Muhaj, in her Belleair Place apartment in Clearwater, Florida. According to local media, Muhaj cut the young woman's throat in front of their 8-year-old daughter.
Authorities said Muhaj was found with the girl several hours later in his vehicle, and he was immediately arrested. The girl has joined other family members.
Following the tragic event, a community member has opened a GoFundMe account on behalf of the family to help pay for funeral expenses and support Suela Saliaj's 8-year-old daughter.
"Dear friends and family, we join together in this time of grief to ask for your support for funeral expenses and Alessia's care in memory of our beloved Suela. Your generosity during this difficult time will help us honor her memory and provide for her precious child," one family member wrote.
The murder happened on January 30, while in her testimony the 8-year-old girl said that she knew her mother was dead and asked her father "why did he do this?".
