Journalist Aida Topalli spoke about the arrest of Safet Bajri, accused of murdering the uncle of his rival Ibrahim Lici.
According to the journalist, Bajri did not resist the police forces who had surrounded his apartment and Dobraçi, but he was told that he had to appear at the local police headquarters to provide a DNA sample.
"The Shkodra police, in cooperation with the general directorate of the state police, have organized an operation to surround Safet Bajri's apartment and the Dobraç neighborhood. After this, the local police officer went to Safet Bajri's apartment and sent him a summons from the local Shkodra police directorate to appear to provide a DNA profile. There was no objection from Safet Bajri. He said "as soon as I get a sweatshirt, I will come". This may have been a trap set by the police, who often use such methods with people who are of a certain risk. Safet Bajri was told that he had to appear at the directorate because he was surrounded and this would happen willingly or by force. When we talk about sieges, we talk about operations involving many forces. There was a siege of Dobraç", Topalli told Euronews Albania.
