Almost 4 years after the massacre at the Fushë-Krujë overpass, where Brilant Martinaj, Diklen Vata and Besmir Hoxha were killed, the Tirana police and prosecution continue their investigations, managing to identify a person from Kosovo, who appears to have brought the car used in the triple murder from Germany to Kosovo.
The "Passat" type vehicle was identified as having been brought from Germany to the state of Kosovo and then the person who brought the car into this country indicated that he left it to his father, who then proceeded to sell it to an Albanian citizen, whom he was unable to remember.
The investigations conducted have revealed that the same vehicle entered the territory of Albania on an unspecified date and by unidentified persons.
It was later used in the event of July 17, 2022, where at the Fushë-Krujë crossing, Ervis Martinaj's uncle's son, Brilant Martinaj, and his two friends from the village of Fushë-Kuqe, Diklen Vata and Besmir Hoxha, were killed.
The Kosovar citizen, after committing the massacre that killed 3 people, appears to have entered Albania several times. He has been kept under surveillance by the criminal police, to learn about the places he would frequent in Albania and the people he would meet.
From all the surveillance, the police have not managed to obtain any compromising information or meetings with the people suspected of being involved in this serious event.
But despite this, the Tirana police have decided to accompany the Kosovar citizen and question him. Journalist Elton Qyno has learned the name of this person, but due to the circumstances of the investigation, his identity cannot be made public.
This person has given explanations to the Tirana police, admitting that he brought the car used in the triple murder from Germany to Kosovo.
He stated that he left the "Passat" vehicle with his father in Kosovo and left for Germany again. On the other hand, the police questioned the father, while he stated that he sold the vehicle to a person from Albania, whom he was unable to identify.
The sale of the car was carried out without a notarial legal act, which raises strong suspicions that the movements were carried out with the aim of losing track of the person who took the vehicle.
After questioning, the two men, father and son, were released by the Tirana police, without charging them with even "Providing the conditions and means to commit murder."
Currently, regarding this serious incident, the Tirana police and prosecutor's office are at a "crossroads", as they have been unable to find the buyer without the car's papers and the vehicle's entry into Albania.
The "Passati" is suspected of having "cracked" the Morina border crossing point in Kukës, not registering in the TIMS border system. The vehicle has been fitted with the license plates "AA 156 OR" belonging to a "Daimler Chrysler" type car in the name of the citizen with the initials, AL, who in 2021 had reported the stolen license plates to the police.
Meanwhile, the silhouette of this vehicle was only seen on July 17, 2022, where it was used by a team of people in the triple murder.
The former officer of the operational team at the State Police, Jeton Lami, was also questioned about the incident in question.
Lami was questioned just a few days after being released from prison, revealing that some time before the incident, he was not the driver who had accompanied Brilant Martinaj in the village of Larushk in Fushë-Krujë.
Dozens of people with criminal records have been questioned about the incident, and they have given their accounts. Two of them, during questioning, stated that they were on vacation on the island of Corfu in Greece when the crime occurred.
The massacre of July 17, 2022 at the Fushë-Krujë overpass, where Brilant Martinaj, Besmir Hoxha, and Diklen Vata were executed in a car, shocked public opinion in the country.
The bodies of Brilant Martinaj and Besmir Hoxha were burned in the car after the murder, while Diklen Vata managed to get out of the car but was shot by the executioners a few meters away.
The only one of the three people convicted in the car that was attacked with a gun was Diklen Vata, whom the Tirana court had found guilty of the charge of "Production and sale of narcotics."
Meanwhile, Besmir Hoxha had no case registered with the prosecutor's office or filed by the police.
Even Brilant Martinaj, according to the prosecution, was only investigated for the murder of FNSH policeman Xhulio Prela (December 2020), but the case was dismissed and Redion and Sokol Hysa were arrested for the murder, who were later declared innocent by the Lezha Court./ Syri
