An Albanian attempted to shoot his 37-year-old brother-in-law while he was drunk.

The event happened yesterday evening in the area of ​​Lagada in Greece. Fortunately, the 37-year-old was not injured in the shooting.

As soon as the police arrived at the scene, the 39-year-old tried to escape arrest by shooting again in the air and entering the courtyard of the church of the Epiphany of Timiou Prodromos and Agia Anastasia Farmakolytria.

After coordinated actions by the police, he was arrested, despite the strong resistance he put up.

The seized gun was reported stolen in January from a house in the wider Lagada area and was found to have ready-to-use cartridges.

The arrested person, who is accused of attempted murder, will be sent to the Criminal Prosecutor's Office of Thessaloniki.
