
On the evening of September 23, the Pavia Police Station executed an international arrest warrant issued by Albania, by Interpol Tirana.
The officers tracked down and arrested a 34-year-old Albanian who was moving in the Milan area and who is accused of the criminal offense of "kidnapping and coercion for the purpose of giving false testimony".
This crime carries a heavy penalty under the Penal Code, which can reach up to seven years in prison.
The media of the neighboring country reported that the wanted person was spotted while entering a bar, in the center of the city, but his identity was not published.
After he was isolated in the police premises, his identity was also confirmed through traces. After this procedure, the 34-year-old was arrested and sent to the Torre del Gallo prison in Pavia, where he is at the disposal of the Court of Appeal of Milan, which is competent for the relevant verification for the purposes of extradition.
If the measure is approved, Interpol Rome and Tirana will also carry out the extradition operation.
