Greek police authorities have struck a prostitution ring with minors in Athens, where as a result three people have been arrested; two tutors and a client, while according to the investigations, six other people are also involved.
Two of the first three who apologized for the network of pimps with minor victims in Colonos were sentenced to temporary prison yesterday.
Specifically, Lorela Kapaj, the 31-year-old pimp, and the 34-year-old man from Ekali were left in prison.
The third defendant, 55 years old, who is accused of the criminal offense of sexual intercourse with a minor, has been released. However, he was given a restrictive condition to appear twice a month at the Police Directorate and a cash guarantee of 5,000 euros.
Meanwhile, the Greek media have published new details about the event.
It is learned that the change in the daughter's behavior, as well as the financial comfort, were what alerted the mother of the 15-year-old and unraveled the tangle of the pimping ring in Colonos.
"The mother noticed the change in her child's behavior long ago. It takes courage to file a complaint because she faced threats from people around the county. She is a heroic mother, as she wanted to save the other children as well as the child," said the lawyer of the 15-year-old's mother, Giorgos Kaniaris.
According to the investigations of the authorities in 2022, Lorela, the mother of a son, the 34-year-old from the Northern Periphery and the 25-year-old Elena were "fishing" underage girls and with the bait of a luxurious life, forced them into prostitution.
Among their victims is a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old, while the authorities estimate that there are many more girls who fell into the trap of the ring.
According to one of the victims, she found clients through a very popular social networking site and attracted much older and financially healthy men from the northern suburbs.
Using the pseudonym 'Lorela', the 31-year-old arrested for participating in a network of pimping minors approached girls and promised them large rewards if they had sex with rich men who would pay a lot for sex.
Her main victim was a 15-year-old girl, whom she allegedly approached in 2022.
"Lorela" had the main goal of pushing her into prostitution with the lure of money.
